Exterior side window trim strips
Hello,
Hoping to get some info on how to remove the exterior side window trim strips without damaging them. The black coating is flaking off and I'd like to smarten them up.
It's a 2005 S40 2.4i with 235000 kms and is my daily driver.
Thanks in anticipation.

Just pull up gently. They're only held on by friction, with little clips that hang onto a steel lip at the top of the door panel.
I've sanded and painted them, and it lasts for years, and is easy enough to re-do when / if the new paint fails.

Time to time, at the window open, trying to close, stop in the middle and opens again.
I open the window to review what's wrong and after removing the glass, can see the rubber trim was broken in the clip. Remove all this part from the clip to up and all works fine again. But when the window is open sometime sound when touch the door frame. But it is not important to me. I drive always with the glass closed. Except when enter to parking or pay in tolls.
