The exterior chromewindow trim on my XC90 is fading or oxidized.Any suggestions?

 

If your still under warranty, the dealer will replace. I had the same issue and the dealer replaced - dealer hinted that this was a common thing.

Have you tried a little car polish and buffing it? If that doesn't improve it maybe try with some metal/silver polish. I would try that first. Replacement seems pricy.

 

Mine too is severely oxidized, I have tried several products but none were able to make it look like new again. I have never had another car (my other cars are Toyota’s) that this has happened to. I am concerned about spending the money (no warranty) to replace it if the same thing will happen again in a couple years.
If anyone has replace there's, how much did it cost?
