RE: front wheel vibrating 2000 volvo s40
could be a multitude of things, i generally start small and work up... first thing would be to have your wheels rebalanced as that is generally the problem with alot of vibrations... after that i would start on steering components (tie rods, bearings, brakes, etc... ) a thorough inspection of those might pinpoint your problem too.. from there, lets hope its not a transmission issue... but drivetrain would be the next thing to inspect.... how heavy is the vibration?

if the camber/toe is bad, or alignment is off it could cause the problem, but there wouldnt be much with acceleration... if the tire was patched... it could very likely be the balance on the wheel... i suggest getting them all redone ( shouldnt be more than 30-40 bucks)

I had the car realigned and balanced. they said one of the rims was dented and they moved that tire to the rear. But when I took it back on the highway still felt the vibration when accelerating over 45..The vibration was definitely on the drivers side coming from the wheel area....
