A good exhaust? chip? and what is the 14 T all about (turbo uprgrade) lol...new to tuning and volvos.....but god do i love mine

 

what year is your s40 first off??most of us tuners have our own exhaust fabricated as it costs a lot otherwise...your car should have the 12t on it....the euro s40 t4's come with a large turbo which is the 14t...if you wanted to upgrade your turbo to the 14t you can do it on your car as the 14t directly bolts on in replace of the 12t...it will provide a little bit more power...as far as tuning with chips, Upsolute is a good vendor....your exhaust should be upgraded to a 3"in downpipe to either a 2.5" or 3" catback exhaust...once you have the exhaust and turbo upgraded you should then seek out the chip to account for your upgrades...

 

well that helps me alot thank you .. its a 2003 (1.9L) i love this car alot!! out of curiousity i am wondering if i could better mpg if i did an exhaust upgrade, chip and intake? .. and is it worth spending the money for the 14 t? how much hp do i gain with that?...thank you for replying

 

I don't know necessarily that you mpgs would improve as you are adding power and changing stock numbers when doing exhaust and chipping...if you're looking for more speed and and power then I would definitely go for the 14t...the difference isn't going to be extreme but with a good tune, a new exhaust and a 14t you can get between 200-250 hp...
