help! s40 td 98 misfire, cold start problem
hi i have a 98 td s40
my first problem is in the morning it doesnt like starting, i have to crank it a few times and give it some gas for it to start, then when it does start it smokes afair bit for a min.
then once she started and we finally get moving, it will sometimes misfire at 2 certain point between 1000rpm and 2000rpm, this problem used to be just when the engine was cold but now it seems to be more frequent.
can anyone help

When you say 98 td S40 does that mean turbo diesel? Or is it a petrol engine? The North American version with the 1.9L petrol turbo engine has a known issue where the fuel pressure regulator fails and causes a hard start condition.

Does the TD use glow plugs? If yes, have you changed them?

the starting problem was a broken wire to the g/plug
just a misfire problems now if anyone can help
