Default Incorrect Brake Failure message

We bought a brand new Volvo S40 in October 2005 because of Volvo's safety record. We have always serviced it at authorised Volvo dealers. Last Tuesday it got its service and we also had to have two new tyres put on it. On Wednesday afternoon I was driving it when I got a message "Brake failure. Stop safely." I did so and turned off the engine. When I tried to start the car I got a message "Immobilised". We had to have the car towed to the dealership and after a day we were told that the flywheel bolts were loose. It seems such a coincidence that we have never had a problem with the car and yet this happens within a day of the car being serviced. Could there be a link between the two events? I would vrey much appreciate any help I could get on this.
