Installed speedometer cluster but lost info center
Upon install of the speedometer it seems to work ok so far however there is no info center showing. The info center lets you look at temp, current MPG, MPG since reset, miles til empty. Could this be a different model speedometer or does the DIM need reset at Volvo?
Was it the same part number (or at least year / model)? The other thing would be to check the fuse that supplies power to the display module, as it wouldn't be hard to short something out during the R/R of the module.
Thank you
The look is exactly the same but the tech had it so fast I didn't get to compare numbers. The display works showing time and temp but it is nor changeable to mpg, miles to empty, etc. Hitting the reset on the control does nothing. That' why I thought, maybe it needs to be programmed by Volvo.

Not sure about the vintage of your car (you never mentioned it...) but on the 2005 to 2009 S40s, the "advanced features" on the cluster are a dealer-programmed option. I can easily believe that's the problem (which is radically different than the one you described originally).
That's sad... OTOH, Volvo stealerships tendency to make service difficult and expensive is what makes used Volvos such a smokin' buy for DIY wrench-twisters like me... it scares everyone away from them ;-)
