Default Is this just extra?

Pulling the blower motor fuse is next to impossible, I had to remove the panel under steering column to get at it, could not with panel in place but found an extra blue wire and could not see where to connect it to so I just put it back together,

looks like the connector for the foot well light - activates when Driver's door is on. Should be mounted to the fibre cover light, similar in style to the one in the glove box.

Very good guess and I thought you were right BUT I just went outside and the foot well light turns on when opening the door.

Close but no cigar yet!
