Hello, I own a 2006 S40 with M56 gearbox. How hard is it to change the gearbox oil(I mean access to drain and refill)?

 

Drain plug in at the bottom and fill plug is at middle of the trans, you can see both from from the driver side wheel well.

When I fill the trans, I like to take the fill plug and reverse switch out, fill the transmission at the reverse switch hole until it pours out from the fill plug hole. Then plug the switch and plug back in.

 

Thank you for the info. I have one more question. Right side rear passenger door donīt unlock anymore. Fuses are ok and there is some clicking noise inside that door when I push the unlock button. How to unlock that door ? Maybe some moderator or someone else can change the topic name for "questions about my S40" or something like that.
