Hi, everyone! I'm new here and I'm looking for a S40 T4 so have tested drive one 98 S40 T4 but it didn't seems like to have 300Nm of torque compare to my old 1.5 small T2-turbo pulsar as I know the S40 T4 should have much much more power than the pulsar. I can feel the turbo kick in but it's very very very smooth not much pulling power. I have checked there is no blue or black smoke coming out from the exhaust when rev it at high rpm. Do you guys think it might be a bad turbo or it's under boost (leak some where) cause this problem? As I have plan to have another look of it at this week, any of your help will be highly appreciated. Thanks a lot!

P.S. The Engine seems fine and no other abnormal noise, operating temp. keep at the range of 99 - 103 degree and the car has done 90K kms!

 

the t4 uses a 14t turbo which is known to hold longer under higher boost but doesnt have the same output off the line that the smaller 12t turbo has...the t4 should come with around 200 hp...check for boost leaks, how many miles are on the car and are you getting this car from a dealership?
