Need help - Suspenion / Acceleration troubles?
Hello folks,
I did a fair amount of searching but couldn't find anything similar to my (possibly silly) question, so here we go.
I recently took my 2001 S40 to a garage to have the front suspension worked on, they called back and gave me a quote to replace a ball joint and shock absorber and top plate, I agreed and said go ahead.
Picked up the car today, took it on a test drive, suspension seems ok but I noticed the car is REALLY struggling to accelerate; Driving uphill (not a major slope, just about 500m distance) @ ~ 30-40 Km/h my RPM was over 2000 and the car clearly sounded like it was struggling. I then drove on a flat road, still got high RPM and loud engine noise.
I took it back to the garage and berated them (just a little) and they'll be taking another look at it.
My question is, do these symptoms indicate something to you. And, is there any possibility work done on front suspension (left/right) would cause anything like that if done incorrectly?
If you know about this, even a little, please do share, I need as much info as I can get so I know what I'm talking about when I go back.
P.S: I should mention, except for the suspension, the car drove just fine when I initially took it in for repair
Many thanks!
