Just got a used 2007 S40 and when you turn the wheel right or left you can fell something move on the floor at my left foot. Any idea what to look for?

 

First raise the car and place a couple of jack stands then make sure it's safe to go under then have a person turn the steering wheel both ways while you are under look at the rack and pinion and make sure there is nothing hitting or rubbing on it also you can look for play on the couplers they look like small u-joints
