my 2000 s40 just got the Upsolute tune done to it. Loving it. boost is now 12psi but it normally only goes up to about 10 something. much faster and a lot more pep.

now for my question. what is the normal coolant temp range on this vehicle. the temp fan comes on at about 205F it will go to 213 and drop quickly back to around 200. is that running too hot for this motor? last car i owned only stayed around 188. and i know small block chevys start wanting to have to pull over at 220. so im not sure where this s40 is supposed to sit. Volvos run pressurized closed coolant systems so going over 200 should be considered normal. the fact that your fan is kicking on and getting the temp down to 200 suggests the system is working. If you have concerns you can always freshen the thermostat and the overflow tank cap (its a pressure cap) and perhaps the ECT while you are there, then do a demineralized water coolant system flush and add new 50/50.
