Newbie: questions regarding USB port inside center storage/armrest
Posted this in the audio/video section but no one's looking, thought I'd ask here again....
Hello everyone,
I'm a newbie here, and first-time Volvo owner ever. I Will be receiving my new ride next week, well actually a 2009 2.4 and the only missing feature on the car would a USB port connection - located inside the center armrest (CD storage area). I was wondering has anyone had any luck adding this feature yourself, or is it even possible? I know it adds minimal benefit other than for music playing through an iPod, etc.. The main reason why I wanted this is because I can use it to charge my cellphone when the is turned on (a real battery drainer) and of course it could also be useful when I bring along my iPod Nano. I know some of you might say there is a 12V cigarette lighter port but I'm not keen on dragging along a USB/12V vehicle adapter since most (these days) comes with a 'removable' USB charging plug. As clutter as it is, I'll leave that port for the GPS instead.
So back to the question; can it be done and what are the requirements?
Thanks for your input.
