Hi folks,

I've got a 2005 volvo s40

the parking brake is not very powerfull, the mechanic already ajust the hand brake lever twice to about 6 notches but after a very short time it's loose again about 10 notches
do you have an idea of what is the issue ?

Your mechanic is the issue. Your mechanic needs to get strangle with that stretched cable. lol

 

Do you think the cable must be changed ?

 

I would wonder if there is some other hidden problem, perhaps a broken or bent mount that is letting the cable slip.

As it is, 'tain't right. Cables don't just stretch.

 

Cables don't just stretch when not used. But when used, they certainly stretch. Sounds like these are stretched and need replacement.
