Default Passenger air bag fault

Passenger airbag off light randomly comes on when there is a person in the passages seat.

I have two other electrical related threads started and not sure if there is a connection between them all. I’ve cleaned connectors and CEM and still get these random electrical errors. Car only has 67,000 miles. Other electrical
issues are with lights and door locks (separate threads).

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Looking at all the issues you have, I'd bet that you have had a water intrusion problem (check the CEM behind the glovebox, assuming your car is LHD).

I did have it out twice and cleaned all the connectors and CEM itself. Do the CEMs themselves go bad that would cause a bunch of these electrical issues? Thank you for the reply.

I have little (OK, no...) experience with a bad CEM (thankfully) but it would make sense.

BTW, did you clean the connectors because of water intrusion, or were they visually fine, and you did it just for preventative maintenance?

I took it out and cleaned it due to suspecting there might be something causing all my electronic issues. I didn’t find any corrosion or anything visually wrong to I just cleaned the connectors while out and put it back in. I don’t have any error messages just the odd issues (intermittent air bag light, door lock issue, lights, etc.). Not sure what would indicate an actual bad CEM.
