Randomly does not start (immobilizer”shows on dash) 2006 S40 turbo
Volvo randomly won’t start. I charged the car and it started. Had the battery and alternator checked and they were good. Last year I could move the automatic gear shift because it broke. A mechanic took pieces out and it’s been fine. I wonder if this could be some sort of problem because of the display “immobilizer” that only appears as I’m trying to start. It revs but then loses power to start then nothing. Appears dead but have lights on dash and inside. I’m not sure if headlights are on.
Does anyone know what could be wrong?

Many times it's low voltage that produces the immobilizer warning. Check the voltage at the battery when you crank the engine over to start it. It should not drop below about ~10 volts. Also check your battery cables top and bottom. Make sure you have adequate voltage actually reaching the starter solenoid. Check your ground cable too.
Also, check the voltage at the battery when the engine is hot. That's when a bad alternator likes to stop working.
