Default rattling noise from front end?!?

I noticed it gradually getting worse, firstly it sounded like a bed's mattres whenever you would get off it and then gradually the noise has got worse it now sounds like as if there is a loose water bottle even though it's not but it is an echoing rattle especially on rough ground going slow. My friend says it's coming from the left side but i think it's coming from both sides as i have driven over rough ground on both tyres and the sound comes on both. Does anyone have any ideas maybe it's a shock or something worn i dont know as i never had to replace these before in any of my cars! Any ideas?

I would check sway bar and end links. Also the top strut bearing plate.

I've got 2 sway bar links on the way so here's my question. In order to replace these do you just loosen a nut on the back side of the link bolt? The bolts on the link are throwing me off. Do you need a special tool to hold those in place or do they not move? Where does the hex tool come in?

Do you have air tools?
If not then some have slots on the back that a 17MM wrench will fit onto.
Others you need a allen or torxes bit to hold the center when you tighten the nut.

Yes just loosen and remove the nuts.

Thanks tech. No air tools here. I'll figure it out more when the parts get here and I get a chance to swap them out.

just did mine - very easy used a 15 mm wrench with a T30 hex, but I still had rattle so next is the strut bearing.
