Removing the hoodliner?
Well on most of hte cars I've owned, a hoodliner was present under the hood, and removing it kept the engine slightly cooler and allowed a little more noise to be heard from the engine (a good thing).
Is there anyone here who can comment on that with the s40? Especially those with teh 1.9T variant because running it with the hood open there is quite a bit of noise, similar to a diesel but not as loud or as noticeable.

I think this has come up before. The hoodliner does 2 things, keep the engine noise under the hood where it belongs and keeps engine heat off the underside of the hood so ur paint will not fry.Keep it on there.BJ
