Default Replacing rear license plate bulb on 2002 S40

How do you replace the bulb in the rear license plate? The manual shows 2 screws. But on my car there are no screws. Does it snap in or what?

Ok so just because a question cannot be answered the site is useless?

Not everyone can see every question. You need to remove the inner trunk panel to access the bulb area to replace the bulbs.

To get bulbs out on a S40 you have to remove the interior covering. The carpet part that is along the trunk. It has clips that you have to use a philips head screw driver, I found a cordless impact with a philips bit worked best. Then just push the carpeting aside and remove the socket. Make sure to be careful, the connectors can become quite brittle.

The funny thing is the poster is named Spaz! What a perfect fit. We could not do his work for him therefore it's our fault!
