Default bulb replacement part-light over license plate

i have a 2002 S60 (base) and a couple of days ago in that message box near the speedometer read "bulb failure" or something like that. i turned the car on and got out and walked around the car and noticed it was the right bulb over the plate that went out.

anybody know:

the bulb part number?

where i can get it?

and if i can do it myself?.....

thanks

I'm no genius at these things-but I would try the local Volvo agent if they are conveniently close to you. Also, I would replace both lights while I was there. If there is a difference between the two bulbs, the computer picks upthe difference in their resistance and sends you a blown bulb message. In saying that-if one lights is blown-the other one is probably not too far away from dying either.

Just my two cents worth.

Cheers

You have another bulb that is bad sometimes.

The License plate light being out won't make the message come on.
Those small bulbs are the little push in bulbs.
You need to remove the little torxes screw in the Lens and remove the lens and replace the bulb.
