Hi everyone. I'm new on here and was hoping someone could help me. I bought a 2008 s40 1.6D eight months ago. It now has 30,000 on the clock and it has started to lose power whilst driving. I could be travelling along at 60 or 70 quite nicely and then out of nowhere have no more power. I will have my foot flat to the floor and really struggle to maintain the speed - and if going up an incline I will lose speed quite dramatically. Shifting down a gear doesn't help either.
I have put it on 2 different diaganosis machines and both come up with zero fault codes. This only happens intermittedly and I can't work out what it is - sometimes it is fine and goes like a dream and others I am getting overtaken by huge lorries going up a hill!!! The only way I have been able to sort it is to pull over, turn the engine off and then back on again. This works but is obviously not a solution to the problem. There are no lights on the dash nor have there ever been... Any advice would be much appreciated...
