Guys, new to Volvo and this forum. Just purchased a 2000 S40 with 120k miles. Within the first 500 miles, I installed new rear calipers, pads and rotors. While bleading the brakes I ran the fluid low enough for the brake light to come on. I verified everything is hooked up correctly. What I found is that the fluid level float in the master cylinder slowly sinks to the bottom of the master cylinder thus causing the brake light to come on. Using a clean pin, I can get the float to rise back top the top and the brake light will go off, but it slowly sinks again. Any ideas out there?

Get a new cap.

 

Sounds like the float has a leak (is it hollow?)? Is it dirty? No help here.
