shifter knob and steering wheel ???
2001/ S40.
The button on the shifter **** that you pull in to move it out of gear, sticks. In fact, when going from D to P, it remains in, thus not letting me remove the key from the ignition. Is this a function of the gear shift ****, or something deeper? If you fiddle with the shifter, it will eventually unstick.
Plus...what size is the torx to take off the steering wheel? There are screws in the back to remove the airbag...My horn doesn't work well, I want to change the contact ring.

No help on the steering wheel, never removed mine.
The shifter button sticking is quite common though. The problem lies at the bottom of the shifter where the button pushes down on the release shaft and solenoid. One too many spilled drinks and this area gets gummed up. (plus dirt and heat, etc) Take off the shifter surround and spray generous amounts of silicone lube around all of the moving parts. Keep working the button until everything is smooth. Repeat when needed.
