Side mirror adhesive
yesterday my wife was diriving our 2003 S40 and the the mirror "glass" fell off the backing plate.
She heard it and was going slow and went back and retrived it (VERY COOL) it is not broken and not marked (she said it hit the street loud)
Ok, my question is what is the best adhesive to use to remount the mirror
BTW -- the mirror is not heated and has no backlight features
My thanks for any help -- Bill

rspi,
Thank you for the reply,
for the benifit of the forum what I wound up trying was Pematex # 81158 Black Silicone adhesive
Also after removing the original adhesive I learned the mirror is in fact heated (sorry for that mistake)
I cleaned everything up with rubbing alcohol, and appiled a reasonable amount of the silicone adhesive and braced it in place for the evening and over night
It seems to be working well so far, I figured I have nothing to "loose"
Thnaks again

Wow, I'm surprised that the mirror didn't break- no bad luck for you guys! I know Dow Corning has a line of silicone adhesives that work well and can handle all sorts of weather, you might want to check them out. http://www.dowcorning.com/content/iam/iamsealants/
Good luck on your endeavors!
