Helo folks.

i drive a 2004 volvo s40, 2.4
My car has started making a strange whistling sound on idle..i suspect the sound is around the oil system because when i remove the deep stick, the sound goes off...

if anyone has ever experienced this, please advice me how to fix

The oil trap box has failed. You need to replace the oil filter housing.

 

Might be free too.

 

That is true I forgot about that. They did come out with am extended warranty for those things so you might want to go to a dealer and see if your call falls under it.

Yes that is the oil trap box but once again it might be covered under the extended warranty so you might want to either call or take it to the dealers to see if they can do the job free of charge.
