Default Sunroof Leak

Got a small leak coming from the sunroof. Its not the drain holes being clogged. Its coming thru the rubber seal where it touches the glass of the sunroof. Can this be fixed or does the entire sunroof panel need to be replaced ?

the drain tubes are after the rubber seal... so more than likely it is the drain tubes...

There is a black trim that runs around the sunroof panel itself. Water is seeping in at the corner of the sunroof panel where this trim is supposed to be permanantly sealed. Can this trim be removed from the glass panel and replaced or do I have to buy the entire glass panel with the trim already attached at the factory ?

Every sunroof leaks between the glass seal and the roof panel. That's why there is a water management system integrated in the design of the sunroof with drain hoses to get rid of the water. If water doesn't come into the cabin your sunroof is fine.

Water will occasionally drip into the cabin, usually after the car has been sitting in the rain and a small amount of water collects on top of the sunroof. The leak is not between the glass seal and the roof panel. The sunroof itself is leaking. The trim that is glued around the sunroof glass and moves with the sunroof. Water is coming in between the actual glass on the sunroof and this trim.

I guess thats the problem. I cannot find the trim only. I can only find the entire sunroof panel assembly, which ain't cheap...

Never did find a solution. The dripping seems to have slowed down or stopped though . It is raining hard today, so I will check. I was going to try some kind of silicon / sealant if the drip gets worse....

Well, it is still leaking slowly, only during a heavy rain... I will try a sealant next & let you all know if it works...

Haven't tried the sealant yet... It's the wifes car. It happens very infrequently and only a tiny bit comes in, so it isn't a huge deal. Yet. I will update when I try it.
