Time taken to pull motor/trans
Got a long list of jobs to do on a 2002 S40.
Has anyone here pulled the motor trans? How long did it take?
Alldata is listing @9hrs to R&R it. That would leave all sides open for manifold gaskets, turbo return pipe, timing belt kit, etc.

depends on your tools and your skills. Shop quotes assume fully trained techs and a full set of tools. If you have stuck fasteners/stripped bolts etc then it will add time even for a pro. If you've not done an R&R on this model, I'd double the hours. That's to say figure a full weekend.
I'm good enough at this stuff, and have all the tools and equipment.
I was asking the time from someone that has actually done it though, not the rest of it.
With various makes/models, there are either shortcuts or headaches. Some you can beat book time on, some there is no chance of even matching it.
My question was to the folks that have actually done the work I'm about to do, and actually removed the engine/trans assembly. Not for opinions as to my abilities and tool collection. If I came off that simple minded, it certainly was unintended.
It's a new marque for me to wrench on is all, and figured I'd ask from those that have been there and done it, as the internet genius' that rely on Google can't always be trusted when looking stuff up online.
We have 3 Range Rovers of various years, one with a 6.0 liter LSx engine and transmission, one with a quad cam VVT v8, and a Jeep on 37's. Non of these have been to any shop in the years I have owned them for more than an AC charge or alignment.
