Transmission fluid for power steering???

Question Transmission fluid for power steering???
I have a 2003 S40 & the owner's manual states "ATF" as the fluid to use for power steering fluid... Is this true?! Should I just use the Mobil 3309 that I use for my tranny or just buy specific power steering fluid at the auto store? please advise....

It was supposed to be a specific synthetic fluid for all 99 and up cars.
But apparently they have changed it but I am not sure of the cutoff.
