I have a 2000 s40 with 60000miles on it. I know my turbo runs btwn 3-5 psi. Is there a way to manually up that to say 7 or9, and if not, what is my best bolt on alternative. I'm looking for something I can do on my own as the funds aren't there for the shops labor yet.

unless you have a boost controller I hope you're kidding about your psi...stock you turbo should be pushing around 7-9 psi...with a boost gauge and a manual boost controller you can get upto 12 psi out of it safely...if you have some experience you can buy the mitsu 14t and that is a direct bolt on from the 12t thats on there now...but again I'd like to know how you know your boosting 3-5 psi...?!

 

I thought that the 00' and 01' s40 ran not much more than 5psi, and that they upped it in 02'. Where I heard, i don't remember,but I did hear it at some point.

 

no, from 2000-2004 the stock boost setting on the 12t turbo is around 7-8 psi...
