URGENT: Timing Belt Change at Garage, Will Not Start Garage Blaming VVT
Hi everyone,
I have an S40 1.6, 2004 Classic S. I took it to the local garage to replace the Cambelt, Water Pump and a second hand VVT replacement (the original was faulty). The garage did the work and the car would not start. They are saying low compression due to the replacement VVT not filling with oil. I believe they are lying and have gotten the timing wrong and bent the valves when trying to start and are trying to pass the buck onto a part I supplied.
Can the VVT cause this starting issue?
This is urgent asa I need to know where I stand.

I would suspect they botched the timing and didn't lock things.
