2000 S40 vibrates/rattles when accellerating gets worse around 45mph and over 2000rpm and stops when let off the gas...what do you think the problem is. Tires are ok checked them out as soon as it started thought a wheel kicked a weight or there was seperation but not the case. worried something is terribly wrong and volvo shop is closed untill monday.

If the check engine light doesn't flash when it happens then I would look at the axles.
The inner joints are going bad on them.
