Hello volvo s40 had a gearbox whine so took it to a good mates garage and he said the main shaft bearings were very worn and making a noise the bearing is mounted on a triangular plate there
are two of these bearing one each side of the shaft anyone know where to get some of these bearings or the part number off them ?

Went to volvo today with the part in my hand they said they couldn't help me because the part wasn't listed but offed me a recon box for 2200+vat though I would try Ford on the way back and they were very helpful tracked the part down off a focus box 1.6 d as they are the same engine and box AS THE S40 £80 each so that's £160 not 2 grand F**k you VOLVO
