Volvo s40 engine swap

i have a 2009 s40 t5 that needs an engine. Can I swap an engine from an 06 s40 t5 into the 09?

check the engine codes - I believe your 09 has the B5254T7 engine where the 06 has the B5254T3. The turbocharger/manifold is different but it looks like they both use the same Bosch ME9 engine management system. So net is, there will be some differences - further research will be needed to see if any are a show stopper.
