Engine swapping an S40 help?
I have a 2004 MK1 2.5L 5 cylinder auto S40, I like it a lot, quick, nice handling, I just want to make it quicker.
Here's my question, do any of you know what engines will actually fit into the engine bay without a whole lot of grinding and everything?
Or would it be better to just fit duo turbos and a k&n filter + cold air intake?
It's kinda hard to find engine swap information on this car, so I figured maybe someone on here might be able to answer my questions.

What are your power goals? That can help determine what you need in terms of hardware, but if you're looking for just a little extra horsepower then maybe look into retuning the ECU and a few simple bolt-on mods and increase the boost on your current turbo.
I'm not too familiar with swapping FWD motors, with RWD cars you have more liberty to swap engines and transmissions.

Although these days with modern ECU tuning and fuel delivery, small displacement turbocharged motors can push a lot of power and do it reliably. Lots of tuners have cracked the factory ECU so you don't have to rely on standalone engine and fuel management and the car will behave normally, won't throw error codes and check lights etc.
