I have just completed stage 0 and want some more power, I have looked for the TD04-14T with no luck(even in the U.K, shipping issues). I have though come across a TD04HL-13T would this be an upgrade? Or can I get a MBC and raise the boost on the 12T and if so what would be the limit PSI on the 12T? Or if anyone has an advice on a turbo I could realistically find I would appreciate it. I am a turbo novice, for now at least. Thanks guys

 

The 2000 volvo s40 can be upgraded to a 16T from a Dodge Neon TD04HL-16T turbo.

If your just wanting more power.... buy a CAI (Cold Air intake) and make sure you have no exhaust leaks, which i'm assuming you've already done.

For stage zero make sure you've :

Changed the spark plugs to NGK Iridium or Equal

Changed the spark plug wires

Checked the Water Pump and Serp. Belt

Only put 93 Octane in your engine.(it really does get you going faster)


The thing with upgrading the turbo is it will put stress on the stock light pressure turbo engine..


Get a manual boost controller and boost your turbo up to about 10-11 and get a cold air intake you will feel a major diffrence or a 3" Turbo Downpipe would really wake your car up.

 

Hello, sorry I'm really late but I was wondering if you did put a 14 T can you not do a ecu upgrade ? And how does that manual boos control work ? Won't the ecu still be confused ?
