What size wrench?

anyone have any idea what size wrench/socket to use on the lower and upper bolts for the front end shocks on the 01 s40?

i'm thinking 3/4" on the lower ones but i'm not sure....

Its a European car and all the bolts,nuts are metric.Its either 17mm or 18mm I dont remember which is a shame really considering all the work I have done on the car.
