01 S60 2.4T oil leaking
Ok fellas... I am trying to help a friend of mine fix his S60... A couple of months ago he had his t-belt replaced and was told by the mechanic that the oil pan seals need to be replaced... I have never done an oil pan gasket replacement in a Volvo, but is this something straight forward? Why the mechanic called it an oil pan o rings? I looked under the car the other day and noticed that there was a lot of oil coming out of there... it looks like it will be fine after replacing the oil pan seal...
Any ideas how hard it will be?
Thanks.

The o-rings are on the oil pump pickup. As previously stated there isn't a gasket on the pan. Get the seals for the dipstick tube and turbo drain while your at it. Don't put off changing the pick up seals or you will be drawing air and spinning main bearings.
from it looks like I will be replacing the entire kit
here is what I found so far on the FCP Euro site... I usually get all my A4 B6 parts from those guys... never had a problem
Volvo Oil Sump O-Ring Kit - Victor Reinz 30750783 | FCP Euro
I am pretty sure that the kit...
Does any one know if you can actually remove the oil pan/sump without removing the subframe?

The passenger side motor mount needs to be moved out of the way. Not a terrible job.
Walmart has some decent foam rollers for applying the sealant, I was liberal and layed it on pretty thick and still had half a tube left.
Also for the long bolts near the o-ring side, make sure to squeeze sealant on the bolts before putting them in, its a known spot for leaking.
