Parallel.
Sorry the tool I use is the shop one.
If I had a persional one I would have shipped it to you to use.
But you might also be able to make one.
In the XC70 section there is a post on the top of the section about a guy that did the head on his car.
He made one out of wood check out the post if you can't find it let me know and I will.

Same here. I didn't realize you removed the whole head and cams. We were figuring out your problems for a simple timing belt install.

My bad fellas for the misinformation...Yes, the heads were off and the marks I made previously before taking it apart were removed by the machine shop. I wouldnt have any trouble if it were just the timing belt- I can do those in my sleep. Now setting the cams from scratch is my current nightmare lol SoooOo, I'm goin to check out the XC70 section and see if I can find more info on this. Thanks guys!!!

Well, I made a tool and got the cams aligned.Looks like I was dead on. When she's running I get no CEL, butin park she idles weird. First its smooth at about 1000 rpms, then she gradually climbs to 3000 rpms and stays there. When I rev it, she'll go back down to 2500 rpms and then climb to 3k. Again, no CEL. If I drop her in gear, she'll stay at 1000 rpms. Its only in Park where she does the weird idle. The car didnt do this before I did the head, so I'm trying to rule out a faulty throttle body...If the throttle body was bad, wouldnt it throw a CEL? Also, if I pull the intake hose from the throttle body, she'll drop the idle and begin hunting a tad...

Sounds like a vacuum leak or mass airflow meter problem. Check that the hose from the t.b. to the m.a.f. is on correctly. It is easy to reverse this hose. It will go on but does not seal properly.

Default a lil closer...

2002, as a matter of fact, I do see that there are 2 vacuum lines going into the upper part of the air filter assembly. I may have accidentally switched these around upon reassembly. One thing I did notice was when she warmed up to operating temp, the super revs subsided and she revved only to about 1500, then down to 1000. On another note, does the S60 have a coolant temp sensor AND and a coolant temp sender? One for the engine and the other for the dash? If so, which one controls the fans?

Those vaccum lines don't matter.
The coolant temp sensor on the thermostat housing controls both.

Any codes?

Ahhhh, I think we're getting somewhere! So the temp sensor controls both the gauge on the dash and the fans?
