i'm new to volvo s60 2.4t (2001). i hit on a rock when i was trying to turn right in a sharp corner but didn't slow down enough. the rock went through the bottom of my bumper, coolant was leaking all the way under my car then. when my friend, who is not a volvo specialist but work well, and I were trying to replace my radiator, we found there was another piece just between the radiator and ac condenser. as we gotta order it from car part shop, we really need to know what it exactly called~~~so is there any body having any idea about it?? plus, is there any thing that i need to pay special attention to when i'm trying to replace that part and radiator? thanks in advance!

 

If it's what I'm thinking it is, that is your (most commonly called) intercooler. People call it different things. I call it air to air and some people say charge air cooler.

anyway, it seems it's called intercooler, but where can i get the best offer for it, no matter online or local parts shop?

 

ebay, car-part.com, tasca volvo or darrell waltrip volvo if you want new, or try swedespeed or volvospeed in the for sale sections. Guys on those forums tend to hop up there cars and if you can find someone with a stock intercooler that has been removed they usually won't sell for nearly as much as a new one.
