I'm buying an '02 S60 with 97k miles on it, and I know the timing belt/water pump service is looming in the near future. I'm also a VW/Audi guy and know that the timing belt/tensoners/water pump service is pretty crucial, but for dubs and Audis, it's costly. I'm wondering if it'll run about the same for the S60 (about $1000).

 

The service can run between $600.00 to 1K depending on who does it.

 

120-150 for the Timing Belt Kit with Tensioner and Idler Bearing
add in 75 for the water pump and assuming you have the correct tools about an hour of your time and your done

ive seen Volvo dealerships do it for as little as 500 however.
