03 S60 Squeaking right front when cold
Hello,
In the morning the right front section of my car makes loud squeaking and clanking noises as I go over slight bumps. After I drive a little while the sound eventually deadens so whatever the problem is seems to go away when something is warming up. What part of the suspension acts like that? Shocks? Struts? Actually, even when the loud noise goes away I still feel a little knock now and then so something isn't right.. What should I tell a mechanic to look for? By the way, 107K miles.
Thanks.

This sounds like my car. I have a 1996 850 wagon. Ever since I got my tires changed a few weeks ago, I have heard squeaking and chirping in the front right wheel well. And it knocks when I go over a speed bump or dip, especially while turning.
Did you get it fixed?

Can someone tell me why is it always the right side that this problem occurs first? I have two 2001 S60s. I replaced the spring seat on the right side of my Blue S60 and now need to do the right side on the Gold S60.
The right spring seat on my newly acquired 2004 was also making noise, when cold. Part was $25 on line, took me about an hour to replace. You will need a spring compressor, and an impact wrench helps. I bought a seat for the left side, but haven't replaced it yet, since the original appears to be OK.

Funny, I do drive Braille every now and then.
However both cars were purchased with 90K+ miles and soon after I noticed the noises. I still have parts to fix my whole left side and still no need to do it since it is driving very nice now.
