03 s60 tcm 0095
Hi. My S60 is a europe model. A notice appeared on the information board yesterday which was "gear selector reduced function". I went to the dealer shop this morning and after diagnostics, they told me there was a fault code of TCM 0095 had been found. They tried to erase that fault code, however it always came out immediately. They said this could be a big problem and cost much. Now I am really worried about my car. could I have some advice from you please? Can anyone tell me what problem it most likely would be?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I have posted the information regarding TCM 0095 below. It says the fault is either with the connections or with the wires themselves. The basic fix would be to clean the terminals and/or check the wiring for possible shorts. If it were something different (and more serious) then you would have a different trouble code.
Condition
If the control unit registers that the signal from the gear selector control unit (GSM) is too low, diagnostic trouble code TCM-0095 is set.
Substitute value
-None.
Possible source
-Contact resistance in the connectors.
-Communication wire short-circuited to ground.
Fault symptom[s]
-Malfunction indicator light (MIL) is on.
-General warning lamp on.
-Position indication on the gear selector panel not working.

I'm not an expert, but I believe that the TCM will limit the car's performance and possibly the gears. It should be okay to drive but I would drive it around the block to be sure it shifts properly. You won't do any damage as the fault is electrical not mechanical. I would not plan on doing any high speed driving until the problem is resolved.
