Question 2001 S60 2.4T, Tansmission Needed

Hello all Volvo lovers, I am new to this forum as well as to Volvo's. I am having a little difficulty with a S60 that I was hoping you folks might be able to assist with.

I recently bought a 2001 S60 2.4T which appears to have a bad transmission, what a 2001 with a bad tranny, nooooo.. (LOL). The issue is that upon it first being started COLD, it will partially shift (D/R) but after a couple of minutes it won't move at all. When it does seem to move I do here a slight whining from the tranny, sounds like the pump/converter are working but after it stops moving the whining is gone and so is my chance to get her to move at all. Upon pulling standard ODBII codes the only code I got which appears at all applicable to my problem is a P0810. Unfortunately pulled these codes as well as cleared them prior to obtaining my DICE/VIDA system. Also it doesn't through any more codes since so I am now unable to get the true TCM codes :-(

Some of the things I did try are as follows:
Drain and refill, I did this since the P/O had WAY TOO much oil in it.
Pulled and cleaned both the input and output speed sensors
Cleaned all electrical connectors for the Tranny (driver side up front by the air box)

Nothing seemed to really make a difference, Any suggestions?

If it is determined a do in fact need a new tranny I do have a line on a used tranny but it is out of a 2001 S40 1.9T. When looking at the model number # it is listed as a 50-55SN followed by 30- 882663, see picture. I am almost positive the model number on my S60 is the same with the only difference being on the S60 it is listed as a AW50-55SN, the second number I am unclear if they are the same since the S60 is now at a different location. Since I I am not sure what the second set of numbers represent I am unclear if these make a difference or not. If anyone knows what these numbers represent of it this tranny will work in my S60 please advise. I am hoping this tranny will work so I can install it in the S60 without any issues I just don't want to go through the hassle off pulling and reinstalling only find out it isn't compatible.

PLEASE HELP

Robert
