The battery has a charge and I have lights and electrical, but the engine will not turn over. AAA came and they hit the engine with a hammer and it started.

I drove it for the afternoon and then it wouldn't start again. Now I have to get it towed.

Does anyone have any ideas what's going on?

Is it the starter?

 

did they tap the starter or a relay? perhaps its just an old relay which is easy, swap it for another one you already have (they are mostly all the same in your relay box) if it works then get another relay, if not its likely the starter motor.
