Default 2001 s60 t5 tire rub

Hi guys,
new to this forum, but I have a problem that stumps me;
my stock size tires rub against the inside of the wheel well (frame) when turnning hard, causing a wear line in my tires, cause poor balance and ultimatly needing new tires. Tire guys cant figure out why this is.
Any answers?

what size tires do you have?

Maybe you need thicker steering stops to prevent the rubbing.

Another solution in addition to steering stops are wheel spacers that can push your wheels out more.

I have the same issue on my 02 S60 2.4T. I've read on other forum's about the same issue with many other owners with the factory spec tires. I'm just been calling it a design flaw. I did see while changing oil yesterday where the tire is rubbing on the inner fender well, but its on a cover that might be able to be taken off or modified. I'm going to try to modify mine this weekend.

size will vary between different tires of the same size from different manufacturers, you can search the sizes on different sites and find ones that may clear....

Chances are your Steering stops are warn and need to be replaced.
Another solution is to stop turning your steering wheel to full lock. You know when it's gonna rub so stop before then.

Use 5 or so washer behind the steering stop.This does hinder the turning radius but by a small amount and it stops the Rub. GL
