Default 2005 Volvo S60 Fuel Pump Control Module

I need to put a new Fuel Pump Control Module on my 2005 S60. Does anyone know if I can buy the part on my own, or does a Volvo dealer need to program the new one? I heard that usually they need to program a new one, but I read that others are installing them. Or do I need to find a pre-programmed part? I prefer to do the work myself and save some $$!

There is no programming, it is plug and play.

I just got a email from a Volvo Customer Rep who said they do need programmed. I am not sure if they just want me at a dealer or not. For sure no programming needed?

I got a email now from Volvo saying it needs programmed. Just want to be sure no programming is necessary before I get one. I am assuming they just want me to go to a dealer...

Default Used Fuel Pump Control Module

Can I put a used fuel pump control module on? I saw some that were selling for a fraction of the price of a new one...

Default Volvo Dealer

Also got a email from Volvo saying they had to be programmed, but my guess is they just want me at the dealer.

I put in another fuel pump control module (used). The engine light went off, so I went and test drove it for a while. After a while I had some more sputtering during acceleration, oddly enough it was only when I was doing a right turn! Before this it would just happen during acceleration and more often when accelerating at high speeds. The place I took it said it said the fuel pump control module was going bad so the engine was getting flooded. So I replaced that control module (the old one was all corroded and the car had a hard time starting after the old one was unplugged then plugged back in, so I think it was going bad). I also put in a new fuel pump and new fuel pressure sensor. Last year new spark plugs and fuel filter. Any ideas what could be causing the random sputtering, which they said is just the engine getting flooded for second or two. I took it to a couple places before I put in the new fuel pump control module and both said the actual fuel pressure was different from what the computer was reading (one place said 20 lbs different). Just trying to get all the info out there! Thanks in advance!!
