My 2009 D5 (bought last summer with 46,000mi on the clock!) currently has HU-850, PS-200 amplifier under driver's seat (RHD vehicle) and High Performance door cards with two grilles each and two speakers, a 6.5" full range and a 1" tweeter, I believe.

I'm part way through an Atacama swap, and have acquired a set of door cards that feature the three grille design for the Premium Audio system.

I listed to music almost every time I drive and do quite long journeys, and while I like the current sound quality, I'd love the best possible. I could just leave the current speakers behind the new door cards, but perhaps now there's an option to upgrade.

So I'm researching whether it would be possible to acquire a pair of front door lower speaker units that feature the combined mid and low range speakers to replace the current full-range.



Premium Audio front speaker unit (I think an 8" and a 3")

I'd really like to hear if anyone knows whether the current 6.5" and the Premium Audio unit pictured above are swappable.

• Is the metalwork of the door the same?
• Do they have the same electrical connection?
• Would I run into problems with impedance or power supply?
• Should/can I also change the PS-200 amp for the PA-300?

The car has front and rear parking sensors. They currently don't work but I'll probably reinstate them at some point.
