2012 S60 T5 Automatic Trans Issue
Hello I am new to this forum. I just purchased a 2012 Volvo S60 T5 with 94,000 miles. The only issue I have right now is an occasional “clunk” in first gear when first starting to move from a stop. The seller told me it needs a software update. Another source said it needs clutch pack replacement. The seller also advised me to shift to neutral when coming to a stop, and then going back into gear to get going again. This seems very effective, there is no clunk or weird shift coming out of neutral.
My questions:
Is this serious and should I expect it to get worse?
What steps should I take to resolve the issue?
The car runs and handles great, I love it and it’s my first Volvo. Thanks for your help!
