Default 2017 S60 Rear Sun Shade

I bought a 2017 S 60 (inscription model) as an off lease 3 months ago with 28,000 miles on it. For a month or so the rear sunshade seemed to work properly; when I put the car in reverse the sunshade went down and came up when I drove forward. Now when I back up, the sun shade stays up. I would really like to drive with the sun shade down all of the time to improve visibility. I tried pressing the rear window sunshade button on the center console when the car was idling, but nothing happens. I thought maybe a fuse had blown, looked in the owners manual but didn't see any fuse for the sunshade. Maybe it's not the fuse as when I press the button I hear a faint clicking noise.
Any idea how I can get the sunshade to retract and stay that way. Many thanks for any help. John

My 2017 w.50K mi has same problem. Per dealer, the motor is packed up which is probably your issue as well. I'm replacing mine under extended warranty for the $200 deductible, otherwise wouldn't deal with it. As I recall the repair quote was much higher if not warranteed. Kicker is my damn wife has been driving around w.it like that for months and thousands of miles, could've had it covered under normal warranty for nothing.

Many thanks for your info.
Took the Volvo to an independent Volvo repair shop and explained the problem. The tech opened the trunk and with his fist banged on the motor, pressed the button on the console and the sunshade came down. Now I have to try to train my wife not to touch the button!

Were you ever able to resolve this? I'm trying to correct the same problem, also in a 2017 S60 Inscription.

A tech where I take my Volvo for repairs opened the car's trunk and banged his fist on the motor, pressed the button on the console and the sunshade came down. I'm careful not to press the button to raise the sunshade!
